Environment and Sustainability Plan

Picture
The Environment and Sustainability Plan outlines the BBC project’s commitment to reducing its ecological footprint while promoting responsible digital collaboration in K–12 STEM education. By prioritizing virtual communication, developing fully digital resources, and minimizing physical travel, the project ensures that environmental considerations remain central to all activities. Partners follow green organizational practices—such as limiting energy consumption, avoiding unnecessary printing, and reducing digital waste—while also promoting sustainable behaviors within their institutions. The plan aligns the project with key UN Sustainable Development Goals, including Quality Education, Gender Equality, Responsible Consumption, and Climate Action. Through thoughtful coordination and continuous monitoring, the Environment and Sustainability Plan ensures that the BBC project not only supports gender-inclusive STEM education but also contributes meaningfully to long-term environmental stewardship. Dissemination and Communication Plan

Picture
The Dissemination and Communication Plan details how the BBC project will share its results, engage stakeholders, and promote gender-inclusive STEM teaching across Europe and beyond. Using a combination of digital platforms, social media, newsletters, scientific publications, and participation in national and local events, the project ensures broad visibility and accessibility of its outputs. All materials will be openly available through the project website and eTwinning platform, following FAIR and open-access principles. The plan emphasizes inclusivity, ethical communication, data security, and accessibility, ensuring that all audiences can benefit from the project’s resources. A structured management system—supported by partner collaboration, shared dissemination tools, and regular monitoring—ensures consistency and maximum impact. Through these coordinated efforts, the BBC project strengthens international partnerships and supports sustainable, evidence-based improvements in K-12 STEM education. Please see the link to read our Dissemination and Communication Plan.

Project Policy
Picture
This policy outlines the commitment of the BBC – Breaking Boundaries in K-12 Classrooms project to fostering gender inclusion in STEM education through both institutional and classroom-level actions. Grounded in UNESCO’s strategy for gender equality in and through education, the policy emphasizes equal opportunities, active prevention of discrimination, inclusive and gender-responsive pedagogy, and respectful, sustainable learning and working environments.

It highlights the shared responsibility of school leadership and teachers to challenge gender stereotypes, promote balanced representation, integrate gender equality into teacher education, and implement concrete measures, such as inclusive recruitment practices, diverse role models, and reflective monitoring, to ensure that all students can participate and thrive equally in STEM learning.
